Enjoy open studio for pottery in the new Makerspace Classroom. Open studio is available for all levels; however, you must have taken a beginning pottery (wheel or handbuilt) class and have a basic understanding of making pottery. After an initial orientation on the first day and a review of studio rules and procedures, participants will be able to work on handbuilding and wheel throwing. Equipment overviews will be available, but no formal instruction is provided.
Please bring your own clay tools. Clay can be purchased on the Community Education website or by check or cash at open studio ($35 for 25 lb bag). Pick up your clay in the Makerspace. You can not bring your own clay. Bisque and glaze firing is included in the studio fee. Glazes will be available to participants after the initial bisque firing of projects. All items must be glazed by the end of the final open studio session. You will be notified when projects are available for pick up at the Community Education Center.
