Sign Language Summer Camp
Come and learn basic ASL vocabulary and practice talking with your hands! Each 3-session summer camp is 2.5 hours long, and will include instruction time, activities & materials, and a snack. All sessions will introduce/review signs for alphabet, numbers, and family members. Handouts will be sent home so you can practice what you learn with your family and friends!
Aug 5, 6, 7
Art & the 5 Senses: Learn lots of descriptive signs as we explore colors and other concepts (such as hot/cold, wet/dry, loud/quiet) through art and our 5 senses. There will be several games and activities involved in this camp as well!
Disclaimer: This is not a class in American Sign Language, which has its own grammar and syntax and is very different from spoken English. Rather, I will be teaching ASL vocabulary, and helping children develop a basic understanding and appreciation for ASL that I hope will inspire them to continue to learn more in depth ASL in the future.
