Intro to Band Summer Camp

Start the school year on the right note!

Get a head start on your musical journey with our Intro to Band Summer Camp! Designed for incoming 6th-grade students signed up for band, this camp will help you feel confident and ready to play when school begins.

Students will learn how to:

• Assemble and care for their instruments

• Form a proper embouchure

• Produce their first sounds

Sessions are grouped by instrument to ensure focused, hands-on instruction. Each session lasts 45 minutes and covers the same material both days, so students can choose the time that works best—or attend both days for extra practice!

Dates:
📅 Thursday, August 14 and or Friday, August 15 (you must register for each session if you plan to attend both)
📍 Location: Byron Middle School Band Room
🕘 Time: Sessions scheduled by instrument (see full schedule below)

Note: This camp is optional but highly recommended for students who want to feel prepared and confident on day one of band class.
